Bronze sculpture of the fictional warrior, Thésée created by the french artist, Christophe Charbonnel. Thésée is the title character from an early French opera composed by Jean-Baptiste Lully and Phillipe Quinault based on Ovid's Metamorphoses which was first performed at the Paris Opera in 1675.
Thésée is part of a romantic triangle involving the princess Egle whom he loves, and the sorceress Medea, who wishes to marry the young warrior. This handsome bronze head with it's finely worked features would be an elegant addition to any home or office.
